Fashion Friday: Dig into GOLD

Your Gay Husband Tip of the Day:
Its OK to be a Gold Digger...
2011 a Golden Fall

Fashion Friday : Dig into Gold
This fall metalics are all over the runways especially GOLD ..my favorite....Just saying, 14K  makes me happy. I guess it is the current economic times that makes me feel so secure to a metal of the earth.
As the price of gold hits $1487.00 per once, many have taken onto this hot trend. Here are a few of my favorites.

Jean Paul Gauiter
 gold jacket
This fall Jean Paul Gauiter whole them was based after James Bond and the scuba diver in all of us....In my dreams. This simple interpretation of a denim jacket don in a metalic leather is over the top amazing and is on my top ten list of "must haves of Fall 2011"

Jean Paul Gauiter
Gold print with fur trim
It continued down the cat walk this  fall 2011 season, James Bond, Bond girl right off the private jet. This look is right on point with the gold trend, printed, shine and luxurious. The matching carry on travel bag just screams..Stand back!

Oscar De La Renta
Fall 2011
American designer Oscar De La Renta, nailed the luxurious look to the head. This beautiful Gold brocade, fabric has been tailored into an amazing suit to be worn this fall to any special function or evening engagement.

Fall 2011 Chanel
"Peridot"
This past week while taking with a few of my favorite cosmetic associates, I noticed that each of them had something in common. Each of the associates were wearing the current nail color from Chanel, "Peridot".

Gold Finger
It is a metalic smooth finish, the turns gold, green and teal depending on the direction you are looking from. I was also told that the effects of this polish will look different on each person.

Rocky's gold shorts
AS this summer comes to an end we cannot forget to watch on of the best summer must sees, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of course we all have our favorites and yes Rocky still remains # 1 with me, however his "creation": an dancing around in his gold shorts is a fun way to celebrate the end of summer.
Hit the repeat button...

There is something special about gold. Enjoy buying it wearing and investing in it...It is VOGUE!

Happy Hour with Your Gay Husband - Pink Convertible Cocktail

Your Gay Husband Tip of the Day :
Listen to 80's Music With This Cocktail
Pink Drink
Happy Hour with Your Gay Husband - Pink Cadillac Convertible
All I can keep thinking about is Aretha Franklin's hit in the 80's...Pink Cadillac. Good enough reason for me to indulge. Kick back and Flash back with this favorite.

Pink Cadillac Convertible Cocktail
3 lime wedges
fine sea salt
ice cubes
1 1/4 parts gold tequila
1/2 part cranberry juice
3/4 part Grand Marnier
lime wedge, to decorate

Frost the rim of a large old fashioned glass by moistening with a lime wedge, then pressing it into the salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour the tequila and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker. Squeeze the juice from the remaining lime wedges into the shaker, pressing the rind to release its oils, then drop the wedges in. Add 4-5 ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10 seconds, then strain into the glass. Drizzle the Grand Marnier over the top and decorate with lime wedges.

Not only does this take great...it also looks great ! I hope this hits the spot for you while you are flashing back to the 80's
Bottoms Up !

Brighten Your Life with Flowers

Your Gay Husband Tip of the Day :
Bring Nature Inside
Adding  Fresh Flowers to the Mantle
Brighten Up Your Life with Flowers
It is so nice to have fresh flowers in your house. It feels like it brightens up your life in some little way. I like to scatter them throughout the house. This is when bud vases come in handy. One bunch can bring flowers to several rooms. Whether you buy them from a florist or at the grocery store or grow them in your yard, the are sure to brighten your life.

Live Plants
Sometimes I run across a great deal at the.99 cent store. The other day I found these planters and white Mum plants. The plants fit perfectly into the pots so I never needed to transplant them. Once their time is up I will add them to the garden and go back to the .99 cent store and spend another $3. What a great investment for your environment.

Picture of a Sun Flower
We have been growing Sun Flowers for the last few years and are they a sight. The are so radiant they almost make you smile. This is a picture of one of the Sun Flowers we grew. Even a picture of Flowers can brighten your room. It might be a good idea to take a trip to your local park and take some pictures of nature to decorate your house with.

Yellow
I have been on this Yellow kick for the past few months. It might have something to do with the Yellow rose of TX. I like to get several different types of flowers while only using 1 color. I usually keep the same type together as well...it just depends.

I hope you can find some inspiration to brighten up your life with Flowers.

Fashion Friday: Jean Paul Gaultier

Your Gay Husband Tip of the Day :
Fashion is My Passion
Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit

Fashion Friday : Jean Paul Gaultier
Fashion begins on the sidewalk and ends up on the catwalk

I cant wait for this great exhibit coming to town November 13-February 12,2011 at the Dallas Museum of Modern Art, "From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk".

A 30 year retrospective of Jean Paul Gaultiers Haute Couture and Ready to Wear designs made between 1976 and 2011.

The show opened this year in Montreal at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Madonna corset

Worn by Madonna...If only it could talk..ohh the stories.

Jean Paul Gaultier draws inspiration from dance, pock-rock, television, photography and world cultures. This corset is the perfect example of his attention to sexy details.

It is said that there will be over 120 ensembles, sketches, photographs and videos.

Mohawk Mania
An idea of former Burberry Model, Thierry-Maxime Loriot and when asked why he wanted to create a retrospective of Jean Paul Gaultier he said "I wanted to show how important he has been in the last 30 years but also how he is still relevant.

Alexander McQueen,Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford have all been influenced by him.

Jean Paul Gaultier
It has been said that visitors will be wowed from the get-go with neon lights, mannequins that appear human, and music and audio effects that will blow anyone away.

"I don't think my work is Art" said the designer."We are in the service of men and women. Some see clothes on women as a performance like Lady Gaga"

If you get a chance to see this exhibit, do so...It will inspire all who see it to think differently about fashion and design.

Cant wait to tell you about it!

Weekly Grocery Bargains

Your Gay Husband Tip of the Day :
Use Your Weekly Ad's and SAVE BIG

Plan and SAVE

 Weekly Grocery Bargains
Today I went to only 1 store to do most of my weekly shopping. I looked at the weekly ads to determine where to get the best deals on the items I needed as well as the best prices on nonperishable products. I SPENT $52 and SAVED $49. I would have saved more if my coffee was on sale this week. I should have stocked up when they were on sale and I wouldn't have to pay full price. Paying full price for anything makes mt skin crawl. Lesson learned. I bought a wide selection of products and shopped almost entirely from the weekly ad. Just slow down and PLAN your trip, you will be amazed on how much you will save. By the way, I went to Albertsons today. They WIN best deals of the week by far. These prices are good til June 21st.
